← Back to the findingsNamed organisations, units, programmes, facilities, and open tools and datasets that do or directly support AI for science in the UK. Universities appear through their named AI‑for‑science units, not by default as whole institutions, and AI work spread across research groups is not mapped.
AI used to do scientific research, and the data, compute, tools, training, and funding that support it. Adjacent work, such as general AI research, is marked lower in relevance or left out.
The map opens on High‑relevance entries, the ones the data stories use. Clear the relevance filter to see the rest.
Placement of organisations is not precise: they are placed by city, then distributed across that area at random. Organisations headquartered abroad are drawn at their UK base. Only organisations and programmes that exist today are shown; those that have closed or ended are not.
